SIS Clubs

Extracurricular activities (Clubs) are part of the daily life of most children.

As research has shown, there is a direct relationship between participating in extracurricular activities and an improvement in self-perception. This is because they develop qualities that depend on the chosen activity. Therefore, each student should engage in the activity they enjoy the most, in order to benefit from its numerous benifts:

  • Socialisation.
  • Improved physical and emotional wellbeing.
  • Enhanced educational attainment.
  • Increased student motivation.
  • Teamwork. Organisational skills.
  • Development of abilities. Reduction of negative behaviours.
  • Fun and stimulation.

Transport

Each year we carefully plan our bus routes, taking into account the needs of our students’ families.

Please consider our Bus service rules below, which must be understood and adhered to for our bus service to run smoothly.

  • Stops are established according to safety criteria and service needs; therefore, routes and stops cannot be customized after the start of the school year.
  • Routes and stops are planned at the beginning of each school year.
  • Pick-up and drop-off schedules for each stop are provided at the time of registration and can be found on our website.
  • The family members in charge of the student may register in a WhatsApp Community where the monitors share the location in real time, as well as the stops established for the route. Therefore:
    1. Punctuality is expected.
    2. In case parents cannot make it to the bus stop, the pick-up or drop-off will be at the following bus stop.
    3.  If parents do not pick up the student during the trip, the student will be taken back to school where a parent or legal guardian must pick him/her up.
  • Please consider our Fees. Please note that if you hire a 10-months service and you then deregister or change the service, you will be charged the difference between the 10-months of Academic year charge and the Monthly charge.
  • Any communication of change must follow our Internal policies and must therefore be communicated in writing with at least 15 days prior to the end of month or term as applicable.
  • Enrolment at the Bus service implies the understanding and acceptance of these rules.

School meals

Shackleton International School has its own kitchen. Our food provider, Colevisa, ensures that our students are served balanced, fresh and delicious meals with the best quality ingredients. Their pre-set menu is designed by paediatric nutritionists, who will ensure the dietary needs of our students are met. Our students with allergies and intolerances will enjoy safe special diets designed for them. For those whose religion or ideology leads them to abstain from eating meat, we have the Halal and No Pork options and the Vegetarian and Vegan options.

Psychology Department

We have our in-house school psychologists. They help our students if they are struggling academically, socially, emotionally, and behaviorally by providing them with counselling, education, and mentoring. Addressing the mental health requirements of students enhances their academic performance and promotes crisis prevention and continued safety. They improve academic achievement, foster positive behaviour and mental health, support diverse learners, establish secure and positive school environments, fortify family-school partnerships, and enhance school-wide accountability and assessment.

Early Birds

Early Birds is a free service that the school provides for parents who need to drop their children off early. It is between 8:00 and 8:45 am. This way, we offer parents the flexibility they need when, for example, they have an appointment or have to get to work. Students are welcome to bring in board games, cards, books, colouring books, and any other item (e.g. soft toys for EYFS) or activity they can do during this time without disturbing the other students.
