Baccalaureate

Sixth Form means secondary education. It lasts two years (Year 12 and Year 13). Students move to sixth form at 16 and remain until the end of school at 18, where they will continue to universities if they wish to do so. During the Sixth form, students learn about their options, and teachers help them figure out what they want to do later in life and which universities could help them achieve that objective.

In our desire to provide an open and internationally focused education for our students, we began the process of becoming part of the IB World Schools in September 2023 in our commitment to offer the IB Diploma Programme to our students.

We are delighted to share the exciting news that Shackleton International School has been accepted as a candidate school by the International Baccalaureate Organisation following an initial feasibility review. We are now proceeding with the authorisation process to ensure that everything is in place to offer our students the best possible future.

Achieving the International Baccalaureate Diploma will give them the possibility of applying to any university in the world. Obtaining the International Baccalaureate Diploma will give students the opportunity of applying to universities all over the world. For universities in Spain students with the IB Diploma will have direct access to all public institutions.

We are very proud to share this wonderful news with you and will continue to keep you updated on the progress of our accreditation process.

In the meantime, we invite you to visit the International Baccalaureate website:  https://www.ibo.org/es/
